Jazz/LyricalCOMPETITION TEAMWhat is competition? By auditioning for our competition team, you are joining a family dedicated to the growth of students as both dancers and people. While competitive dance is a competitive sport and requires both a strong commitment to the team and a love for dance, it teaches students so much more. From the ability to work as a team and prepare them for a future of hard work and perseverance, it is a phenomenal opportunity for your children to grow and improve doing a sport they love. Our competitive team provides students with extensive dance training and knowledge that can help them in a future dance career. With highly trained staff, our students will be well trained and well cared for both in and out of the classroom. Even if your child chooses to pursue another profession upon graduation, our competition teams provide students with so much more than just dance education, and the students will carry the lessons taught in our classroom in whatever future endeavors they pursue. If you're interested taking your dancing to the next level, then the Competition Team is for you. Performing on the Competition Team offers students the chance to train in many styles to prepare for various competitions throughout the year.
All Jazz/Lyrical competition team members are required to compete in lyrical, jazz and a themed team production number. Foundational technique classes, including ballet technique, modern technique and jazz/lyrical technique are required for all team members. Other optional styles include contemporary and open which are chosen based on level are selected by our staff after our audition process has concluded. Tap & Acro hold separate auditions along with Hip Hop (Skillz Squad) and Ballet (Ballet Classique). We also offer a Mini competition team for our younger students and an Ultra Mini competition team for our youngest team members. Audition is required for placement As previously stated, our Jazz/Lyrical competition team hold an audition every year for team member placement.
